As 2024 comes to a close, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you for your ongoing support. We’re very proud of Re-engage's work over the past 12 months and the impact our services have on the older people who attend tea parties, take part in activity groups, and regularly chat with a call companion. Whether you’re a fundraiser, a volunteer, or you help raise awareness, we appreciate all you do in the fight against loneliness in older age.
This year, our fundraising team has forged new partnerships, strengthened relationships with existing supporters, and secured vital funding from respected trusts. We’ve embraced ambitious challenges, including our largest-ever Big Give campaign, introduced exciting new events, and launched our first-ever lottery - all to bring joy and connection to even more people and deliver more life-changing moments than ever before.
We’ve expanded the number of activity groups, with 19 new groups set up across the West Midlands, London, Greater Manchester and Scotland, and more will follow. The groups have been described as 'a lifeline' and 'something to look forward to' by guests, and we’re excited to be able to welcome even more attendees to these important groups.
None of this would be possible without the support of you, who believe in older people being seen, heard, valued and included. Next year, we will celebrate 60 amazing years of reducing loneliness and we’re excited to use our special anniversary to further amplify the voices of older people, continue delivering services that make a difference, and give even more older people the gift of friendship.
On behalf of the whole Re-engage team, I’d like to wish you a wonderful time over the festive period. Whether you celebrate or not, I hope December is a peaceful time for you and your loved ones.
